Development Sub-Department of the Public Works Department will have the status of Executive Engineer. Since Mr. Baker's departure Mr. Adam Anderson has been acting in

this post.

Mr. Baker whose appointment as Port Engineer was approved in your Confidential despatch of 31st July, 1925, is now on leave. When he returns to the Colony early

in 1927 I propose that he should revert to the Railway staff, and take over the duties of Manager from Mr.Winslow, who will then retire on pension. I am addressing you in

a

separate despatch on this matter.
